Slalom Course :: Cùrsa Slalom

E-mail Print

Inverness Canoe Club is currently progressing an exciting project to bring a mini slalom course to Bught Park, Inverness.

The project was initially set in motion by former ICC President and SCA Regional Coaching Organiser, Steve MacKinnon, however the club has now added its weight to proceedings in order to maximise funding streams and support.

We are still at an early stage and funding applications still in the pipeline, however we are happy to announce that we have already secured funding from greeninverness and sponsorship from Brandon Landscpaing Ltd. Both of these organisations' input and support, especially at such an early stage, is extremely welcome and appreciated.

Please keep an eye on the Bught Park Slalom Course page in the About the Club section for news as things progress...

E-mail Print

The club is running a special sea kayking pool session on Friday 19th February at the Inverness Aquadome. Starting at 9pm as usual, £4 per person.

Teaching will focus on sea kayaking skills and will be provided by some of the club's top sea kayak coaches.

Due to the size of sea kayaks, we unfortunately have to limit numbers. For this reason, we ask that you book in advance; booking is on a first come, first served basis and, for this evening only, if your name's not on the list, you're not getting in - sorry!

Booking requests and enquiries to Anne Murray: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

News Flash: the sea kayaking pool session is now fully booked. However, if you would still like to go, please contact Anne Murray to get your name on the reserve list.

E-mail Print
There are still places for a fantastic weekend of open canoeing on both Loch and the River Tay...

Weekend of 27/28 February 2010.

We plan to....
  • Go exploring on Loch Tay
  • Teach/practice poling
  • Demo some sailing rigs and go sailing
  • Tour round the crannog
  • Take a leisurely decent of the River Tay - Kenmore to Grandtully!
  • Practice some tracking and lining skills
  • Explore a fantastic canoeing river (with no fishermen around)
  • And play canoe games down Grandtully (for those who fancy a challenge)
If you fancy it, or what more information, please contact Donald MacPherson as soon as possible.

There are currently spare seats in cars and on the canoe trailer for transporting canoes down there for you.

Accommodation is available too, with breakfast, and we will be hiring some poles and sails to use as a group.

The weekend will cost you only £25pp.
