Inverness Canoe Club provides a fantastic opportunity for novice paddlers and seasoned river paddlers, both children and adults, to participate, lead and coach on white water.
The River Ness is a great resource on our doorstep that allows evening park and play, as well as day trips. It is a reliable source of water; this short river offers the beginner an enjoyable and fun first trip from the Top Weir, down through Fast Eddy, the Dragons Tail, and a further weir before finishing at the Fisherman’s Car Park. A very nice trip down the river and always great fun. It’s a grade 2 river that always provides a buzz!
We are spoiled for choice for rivers; the hardest decision is which way we drive. For the more experienced paddlers, trips are run on the River Spey, all sections of the River Findhorn, River Garry and much much more…..
The Ballindalloch to Knockando section of the Spey provides a friendly, bouncy grade 2 white water trip, with its infamous Washing Machine and a play spot at the Knockando rapid.
The Middle Findhorn is a grade 2-3 paddle through awesome scenery, including a series of pleasant gorges. The River Findhorn boasts some 24 km in its upper sections giving something for all paddlers. For the more advanced paddlers members explore further afield with trips west to Fort William on the Rivers Orchy, Etive and others.
The club has a fleet of river runners, play and creek boats, which can be hired along with paddle and buoyancy aid, etc, to get you on the water.
